New ZealandNaff Caff

The view of Lake Wakatipu from the Queenstown Lodge. The mountains in the background featured in the Lord Of The Rings movies

Naff Caff business cardMy first 24 hours in Queenstown were full of action-packed insanity: three bungy jumps via AJ Hackett Bungy, a skydive from 12 000 feet with NZONE, a jet boat ride with Shotover Jet, an excellent venison burger at Fergburger (the burger was bigger than my face, that's why it was action packed), and copious amounts of drinking.

After all of this, I needed something to calm my nerves before I tackled the Shotover Canyon Swing, more drinking, and a tramping trip alongside the shores of Lake Wakatipu (though not in that order).

I stopped in at Naff Caff at about 9:00am, and the place was busy. I needed something to wake me up. The weather was cold, and I had planned on walking up the hill to get some photos of the lake and Queenstown. I selected Naff Caff because it was along my route up the hill, so it was purely by chance that I stopped there. The service was very quick, and I drank the coffee (thankful it was so hot and strong) while sitting at one of the barstools that faced the window and Shotover Street. Knowing I had a full day ahead of me, I drank the coffee quickly, and set out for my walk up the hill.
