Shameema Dharsey, the creator of the comic The Cat Lady and its sequel ...And Life Goes On, as well as a collection of colouring books for adults and children, is launching The Asmaul Husna Colouring Book Volume 2.

Launch: The Asmaul Husna Colouring Book Volume 2 By Shameema Dharsey, Cape Town

The book is the second in a planned series that will, collectively, offer the 99 names of Allah as colouring pages so that artists and doodlers can explore Islamic art. The book, which will be available in A3, A4, and A5 formats, features 20 names of Allah in Arabic calligraphy, with English translations, created within geometric designs that are particularly suitable for adult-colouring enthusiasts but can also be explored by children. Each page is one sided so that the colouring won't bleed through to a design on the other side and so that the pages can be removed from the book and framed.

The launch, which is taking place at the Al-Ikhlaas Academia Library at Islamia College in Lansdowne, will give attendees a chance to learn more about colouring and to explore "the modern new Islamic library". There will be a colouring station so guests can practice their skills after the event.

All of Shameema Dharsey's books will be offered for sale at the launch and credit-card facilities will be available.

• When: Sunday, 12 March 2017, from 10:30
• Where: Al-Ikhlaas Academia Library, 2nd Floor, Islamia College, 409 Imam Haron Road (Lansdowne Road), Lansdowne, Cape Town, South Africa
• Cost: Free but RSVP here by 10 March 2017
• Event Details: Facebook
