The exhibition Beach & Berg, which aims to determine whether there is a Muizenberg aesthetic, is running at The Hive in Muizenberg. The exhibition features artworks by Muizenberg locals, as well as a few guests from further afield in the South Peninsula. Work by South African comics creators and cartoonists ND Mazin, Gavin Thomson, Chip Snaddon, Robyn-Jade "Pob" Hoskin, Tyler Pike, and Tegan Phillips is included in the event. Particularly notable is a multi-page wordless comic by Tyler Pike.

Exhibition: Beach & Berg, Cape Town

More information:
"Beyond the world-record-holding learn-to-surf mecca that is Surfers’ Corner, beyond the Zandvlei, the waterbirds, the mountain paths and fynbos treasures, beyond our fishy restaurants, noisy pubs and cosy café vibe, beyond Palmer Road and the Muizenberg Festival, beyond the community spirit that draws young people of all ages from all over the world, beyond our colourful history, distinctive architecture and underlying archaeology, beyond our social challenges, our street people and our looming water crisis, is there a look, a feel, a special kind of spirit or soul, a particular notion of beauty, of deep inner feeling, that is distinctly Muizenberg?

"Muizenberg's community of artists contribute their answers to this question in the form of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, street art, collages, and cartoons."
