Festival: Open Book Comics Fest 2019, Cape TownThe 2019 Open Book Comics Fest is taking place over five days in September and will feature workshops, panel discussions, and a comic creators' and artists' market.

This year the events will be taking place at various venues in and around The District 6 Homecoming Centre (next to The Fugard Theatre) and at the Cape Town Central Library. Quite a few additional events, on the main Open Book Festival programme, also feature South African comics creators and these willbe taking place in various venues, including The District 6 Homecoming Centre, The Fugard Studio, The Fugard Theatre, the A4 Arts Foundation, and In Awe Stays. Make sure you know where you are going. There is an exact description of where to find the rooms in the various venues on the Open Book Festival web site, and there are maps to the venues at the bottom of this post.

This year a number of the Open Book Comics Fest events are R45, through some remain free. Most of the main programme Open Book Festival events are not free and require pre paid tickets. Visitors will be required to pre register for the workshops and panel discussions on Webtickets (whether free or paid for) to get an entry ticket, which will be checked at the door. The Open Book Comics Fest marketplace and marketplace demo events don't require tickets.

Wednesday

Draw Your Own Superhero
Comics Fest: Multimedia/Motion Designer, Roberto Millan and Su Opperman (SAE), take you through the steps to create your own hero.
