Open Art Cape Town is celebrating its fifth birthday (which actually occurred in August) with a special Sketch Meet at Green Point Park in the city centre, followed by a wander to the Green Point branch of The Creamery for waffles and ice cream.Although the Open Art meetups are not specifically South African comics events they are organised by local comics creators and you can always find some of them in attendance.
The event is free and open to anyone who wants to participate. Take along some sketching implements and sheets of paper or a notebook and use the opportunity to socialise and get advice on improving your art.
