Open Art Cape Town is hosting one of its new Thursday evening Sketch Meetups, to coincide with Art Thursdays in Observatory, at its usual haunt, The Drawing Room, a café and art gallery. While it's not specifically a South African comics event it is organised by local comics creators and you can always find some of them in attendance. The event is free and open to anyone who wants to participate. Take along some sketching implements and sheets of paper or a notebook and use the opportunity to socialise and get advice on improving your art.

• Where: The Drawing Room, 87 Station Road, Observatory, Cape Town, South Africa
