Festival: Open Book Comics Fest 2017, Cape TownThe 2017 Open Book Comics Fest is taking place over five days in September and will feature workshops, panel discussions, and a comic creators' and artists' market.

This year the events will be taking place at various venues in and around The District 6 Homecoming Centre (next to The Fugard Theatre) and at the Cape Town Central Library. Additional Open Book Festival events featuring South African comics creators will also be taking place in the Fugard Studio, at the A4 Arts Foundation, and in The Company's Garden. Make sure you know where you are going. There is an exact description of where to find the rooms in the various venues here, and there are maps of the venues at the bottom of this post.

All the Open Book Comics Fest events are free for spectators (the Monster Battle events are paid events for participants) but visitors will be required to pre register for the workshops and panel discussions on Webtickets to get an entry ticket, which will be checked at the door. The marketplace and marketplace demo events don't require tickets. Most Open Book Festival events are not free and require pre paid tickets.
