Saturday, 23 March 2019 has been designated Hellboy Day, in honour of the 25th anniversary of comic creator Mike Mignola's Hellboy, which is being celebrated at comic book stores worldwide. Hellboy first appeared in full in a comic in San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2 (August 1993) but the day is presumably being celebrated earlier in the year because a new Hellboy movie is releasing in April 2019.

In South Africa both Readers Den Comic Shop stores will be celebrating the day by offering a free special-edition comic, double-sided poster, button badge, and bookmark with every purchase over R100 (while stocks last).
