Convention: FanCon Cape Town Comic Con 2019

The fourth FanCon Cape Town Comic Con is taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (possibly for the last time at that venue) at the end of April. The event features comics, cosplay, and gaming events, as well as panel discussions, workshops, an artists' alley, and a geek marketplace.

The guests to look out for are:

International Comics Creators: Sana Takeda (the Hugo and Eisner award winning illustrator of Monstress); Brian Stelfreeze (the illustrator of Black Panther and more); Sam Humphries (who has written for Marvel and DC); and John Higgins (the colourer of Watchmen and Batman: The Killing Joke, among others).

International Cosplay Artists: Ani Mia, Becka Noel, and Dhareza Cosplayza.

Local Comics Creators: Sean Izaakse, Jason Masters, Bill Masuku, Warren Louw, the Kwezi team, Zapiro, and the Bitterkomix team.

Local Cosplay Artist: Kinpatsu Cosplay

Additionally, local comics creators including Stephen Spinas, Ziyaad Rahman of Awali Comics, Bedevilled, Ben Winfield, Danelle Malan and Ben G Geldenhuys of Cottonstar, Daniël Hugo, Hazer88 Studios, Jarred Cramer of Kaos Produktion Studios, Kaylee Claire/Kayworx, Milo Wildcat, Luke Molver of Molver Comics, Neal Strydom, Pinfire Comics, the Sector team, Shameema Dharsey, Kay Carmichael of Sophie The Giantslayer, TS ZOMBiE, and Kerry von Lillienfeld of TechNoir will be in the artists' alley, while local stores Exclusive Books, Blank Books, and Readers Den Comic Shop will have stands selling comics and graphic novels.

Cosplayers, meanwhile, may be interested in the Harry Potter Cosplay Group and The Witcher Group.
